1. Guidance and Facilitation on formation of Eco/Energy Clubs in schools- 12 eco clubs has been formed in 12 schools with 576 students and 12 teacher-in-charges in this session.
2. Capacity building of teachers and students- Capacity building progamme arranged every year in schools for students and teachers. This activity is going on since 2012 in every school. This year capacity building programme has been conducted in two schools.
3. Sustainability Handprints of the Schools-.
a. Waste Audit- Waste audits have been conducted in 18 schools in this session
b. Energy Audit- Energy audit was done in 35 schools from September 2012 to August 2015.
c. Rainwater harvesting potential measurement- In 15 schools rainwater harvesting system has been installed from September 2014 to February 2020.
- Composting- 13 schools have conducted composting in the ongoing session
- Waste paper recycling- 9 schools have done waste done waste paper recycling in their school in this session.
e. Medicinal plant garden- Medicinal garden have been set up in 10 schools from the period of September 2014 to August 2019.
f. PET bottle re-use – Vertical garden- Vertical garden have been set up in 4 schools from 2017 to 2019
4. Placement of communication messages across the school- A set of messages are developed in boards about various environmental topics in English and Bengali and installed in schools. The messages are on conserving energy, rainwater, medicinal plants, segregating waste, composting food waste, recycle paper, clean classroom and use dustbins. In this session signage board has been given to 5 schools. For showcasing the learnings of the students on various activities, exposure visits, community outreach, expert talk, competitions entries of the participants to the entire schools, schools are given bulletin boards. Students also put up art works or newspaper articles on environment to aware whole school student. Bulletin board has been given to 10 schools in this session.
5. Assembly talks- Eco club members of schools deliver a speech in the assembly on topics related to environment conservation and issues, to aware the entire school students on environment. This activity has been done in 15 schools from September 2015 to August 2017.
6. Best of waste competitions- In 11 schools best of waste competition have been done.
7. Poster making thematic competitions on old newspaper- Poster making competition have been done in 16 schools.
8. Communication through Drama- Drama competition was conducted on 22nd April 2018 with 11 schools to celebrate World Earth Day.
9. Campaigns and rallies- Two community outreach campaign was conducted this year one Plastic litter clean-up and recycling event named “Recyclathon” and another on No Cracker Campaign named “Walkathon”.
• Green deed a day- Students from 9 schools have participated in the green deed a day activity this year.
• Wall art- Wall art has been done in 10 schools from 2014 to 2017.
• Exhibition- Urja Chetana stall was put up for exhibition in the annual flower show held at The Agri Horticulture Society of India last year.
• Green Saraswati puja- Eco friendly saraswati puja was done in 24 schools this year.
• Media coverage- Urja Chetana activities were published in newspaper like Anandabazar Patrika and Dainik Jagoron. Zee 24 Ghanta covered Urja chetana activities in Tiljala High school last year.
10. Annual Felicitation of Schools- Each year an annual felicitation event of schools has been organised since 2012. Schools doing well in all the activities are rewarded in the event. Winner of each activity category is chosen and rewarded in the felicitation event. On spot competition also conducted in this event. Students perform in the competition and the best three are rewarded. Ecah year in this felicitation event students
